March Holiday Workshop. A Term 1 diagnostic.

Term 1 is done. Reports tell you a grade, not where the gaps are. The workshop gives you an objective read of where your child stands while there is still time to act before Term 2.

A structured, exam-standard diagnostic for PSLE, IP and O-Level math students: an assessment with a full tutor review in the same session, a 30-minute one-on-one parent consult, and a complimentary workbook. The workshop returns each March holiday, so there is always a next one.

A student working calmly through a March Holiday Workshop assessment paper

The idea

A diagnostic, not a scary test.

Most holiday programmes give a child more practice. This one gives the parent clarity.

Your child sits an exam-standard paper under calm conditions, then the tutor walks through every question in the same session. Afterwards you sit down one-on-one for 30 minutes and see exactly where the gaps are, before Term 2 layers new topics on top of the old ones. The point is simple: walk in guessing, walk out knowing.

1 · Assess

An exam-standard paper, no hints, under calm conditions.

2 · Review

The tutor goes through every question, in the same session.

3 · Consult

A 30-minute one-on-one read of the graded paper and priorities.

Levels we run

From P2 to S4, in two clear formats.

PSLE, IP and O-Level math students are all welcome. Most levels run as a single diagnostic session. The exam-year and transition levels run as two sessions, so the assessment matches the format that matters at that stage. For year-round support, our weekly programme carries the same in-house curriculum.

1-session levels

P2

One exam-standard paper, with a full review in the same session.

P3

One exam-standard paper, with a full review in the same session.

S3 A Math

One exam-standard A Math paper, with a full review in the same session.

2-session levels

P5

Two sessions, Paper 1 and Paper 2, to mirror the PSLE format.

P6

Two sessions, Paper 1 and Paper 2, to mirror the PSLE format.

S4

Two sessions, a content lesson plus a full assessment.

S4 A Math

How a level runs

The same shape, sized to the level.

Every level is exam-standard, with a full tutor review and a parent consult. Pick a level to see how its sessions are arranged.

The assessment

One exam-standard paper drawn from Term 1 topics, sat under calm conditions with no hints.

The review

In the same session, the tutor works through every question and students mark their own work.

The parent consult

A separate 30-minute one-on-one, Zoom or onsite, walking through the graded paper and priorities for Term 2.

Session 1 · Paper 1

Exam-standard Paper 1, sat under calm conditions, then reviewed in the same session.

Session 2 · Paper 2

Exam-standard Paper 2, then reviewed. Two papers mirror the PSLE format.

The review

Each paper is walked through question by question, with students marking their own work.

The parent consult

A separate 30-minute one-on-one on the graded papers and priorities for Term 2.

Session 1 · Content

A focused content lesson on the Term 1 topics that carry the most weight at S1.

Session 2 · Assessment

A full exam-standard assessment, sat under calm conditions, then reviewed.

The review

The tutor works through every question and students mark their own work.

The parent consult

A separate 30-minute one-on-one on the graded paper and priorities for Term 2.

The assessment

One exam-standard paper on Term 1 O-Level content, sat under calm conditions. A Math runs its own paper.

The review

In the same session, the tutor goes through every question with the class.

The parent consult

A separate 30-minute one-on-one on the graded paper and priorities for Term 2.

Session 1 · Content

A focused content lesson on the highest-weighting Term 1 O-Level topics. A Math runs its own track.

Session 2 · Assessment

A full exam-standard assessment, sat under calm conditions, then reviewed.

The review

The tutor works through every question and students mark their own work.

The parent consult

A separate 30-minute one-on-one on the graded paper and priorities for Term 2.

P5, P6, S1, S4 and S4 A Math run two sessions. P2, P3, P4, S2, S3 and S3 A Math run a single session. Every level includes the review and the parent consult.

How it works

Assess. Review. Consult.

Three steps turn a holiday session into a clear picture you can use. Nothing fancy, just a proper diagnostic.

1 · The assessment

An exam-standard paper drawn from the term's key topics, sat under calm conditions with no hints. P5 and P6 sit two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, to mirror the PSLE format.

2 · The review

In the same session, the tutor goes through every question and students mark their own work. The focus is on the error patterns, the careless slips and the method marks left on the table.

3 · The parent consult

A separate 30-minute one-on-one, on Zoom or onsite, where the tutor walks you through the graded paper, names the gaps and suggests what to prioritise for Term 2.

The review and the parent consult are where most parents say it finally clicks. A grade tells you a number; this tells you what to do next.

Who it suits

For families who want to know, not guess.

The workshop is a good fit if you:

  • are not sure how much of Term 1 actually stuck;
  • want a clear, graded read before Term 2 builds on it;
  • would like an objective checkpoint rather than another stack of worksheets;
  • are new to GPA and want to see how we teach before committing;
  • have a PSLE, IP or O-Level year child who would benefit from exam-format practice.

New to GPA

A self-contained workshop, no prior GPA experience needed. A genuine window into how we teach.

Aligned to school

Built on the MOE syllabus, so it maps to the Term 1 work your child has covered, whatever their tuition background.

Small classes

Same small caps as our weekly classes, so the tutor can track every student in the room.

What's included

Every participant gets the same three things.

  • An exam-standard diagnostic lesson, the assessment and a full tutor review in the same session.
  • A 30-minute one-on-one parent consult, walking through the graded paper, the gaps and what to prioritise.
  • A complimentary in-house workbook, yours to keep and revise from after the holiday.
  • The two-session format where it matters, for P5, P6, S1, S4 and S4 A Math.

A keepable resource

The workbook is yours to keep.

Every participant takes home a complimentary in-house workbook to write in, flag and revise from after the holiday ends. It is part of the curriculum we write and publish our own, 60+ textbooks and 40+ workbooks, refined over years of classroom use.

Mrs Eileen Toh, Founder of Genius Plus Academy

Why we built it this way

"Parents come in guessing; they leave knowing."

That is the whole point of the workshop. An exam-standard paper, an honest review, and a one-on-one consult, so a single holiday session turns into something you can actually act on before Term 2.

A Genius Plus Academy principle, from Mrs Eileen Toh, Founder

Many workshop families go on to join our weekly programme after seeing their child's diagnostic. Based on GPA's internal tracking; individual results vary.

Already a GPA student?

You may already be attending the workshop.

If your child is in our weekly programme, their March lessons may already be this workshop's content, at no extra fee. Check with us first and we will tell you honestly which programme your child is in. We would rather you did not pay twice.

Free sample, no pressure

See a sample assessment and review.

We will send a sample of the kind of exam-standard paper your child sits, with a worked review, so you can see exactly how the diagnostic works before you decide.

For year-round support after the workshop

When the diagnostic surfaces a gap, the weekly class closes it.

The workshop shows you where your child stands. Primary Math Weekly is how you keep them there, with the same in-house curriculum and small classes, term after term.

Questions parents ask

The March run has finished. When is the next one?

The workshop returns each March holiday, right after Term 1. The dates and timings for the next run will be published here closer to the time. Register your interest and we will let you know as soon as they open, with no obligation to confirm a place.

Which levels can take part?

P2 to S4, with PSLE, IP and O-Level math students all welcome. P2, P3, P4, S2, S3 and S3 A Math run as a single session. P5, P6, S1, S4 and S4 A Math run as two sessions, so the assessment matches the format that matters at that stage.

What does the workshop cost?

The 1-session levels are S$120 and the 2-session levels are S$240. The fee covers the exam-standard diagnostic lesson, the full tutor review, the 30-minute parent consult and a complimentary workbook. Fees are indicative and confirmed when the next run opens, with no location surcharge.

How does the assessment work?

Your child sits an exam-standard paper under calm conditions with no hints, then the tutor goes through every question in the same session and students mark their own work. It is a diagnostic, not a scary test. P5 and P6 sit two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, to mirror the PSLE format.

What is the parent consult?

It is a separate 30-minute one-on-one session, on Zoom or onsite, where the tutor walks you through the graded paper, names the gaps and suggests what to prioritise for Term 2. Every participant gets one.

Is this suitable if my child is not a GPA student?

Yes. The workshop is fully self-contained, with no prior GPA experience needed. The content follows the MOE syllabus, so it maps to the Term 1 work your child has covered in school, whatever their tuition background.

Is the workshop available on Zoom?

Yes. Every level is available on Zoom, with the same teaching and materials as onsite. The parent consult can be held on Zoom or onsite, whichever suits you.

My child is already in GPA Weekly. Do we register?

Possibly not. For some weekly students, the March lessons are already this workshop's content, at no extra fee. Check with us first and we will confirm which programme your child is in, so you do not pay twice.
