Secondary Math Headstart. Close gaps. Preview ahead.

The jump between secondary levels is steep, and the gaps left from this year tend to compound in the next. The bootcamp uses the year-end holidays to fix what is shaky and preview what is coming.

An intensive 2-day bootcamp that bridges secondary levels: Day 1 closes the gaps from the year just finished, Day 2 previews the next level with problem-solving drills and exam strategies. Two streams, S1 to S2 and S2 to S3, so your child starts the new year already ahead. It returns each year-end holiday, so there is always a next one.

The idea

Enter the new year already ahead.

Most holiday programmes review the year that just ended. This one closes those gaps and then walks your child into the next level before term begins.

Day 1 is concept-first revision of the foundational topics from this year, the ones the next level quietly assumes your child has mastered. Day 2 previews the topics that open the new year, with structured practice and the exam strategies that travel with them. By January, your child is not catching up, they are building on a head start.

1 · Close

Fix the foundational gaps from the year just finished.

2 · Preview

Meet next year's core topics before term starts.

3 · Report

A post-camp report within one week, gaps named.

The two streams

Two transitions, one bootcamp shape.

Both streams run the same two-day shape: Day 1 closes the gaps from this year, Day 2 previews the next. Pick a transition to see what each day covers.

For students moving from Secondary 1 into Secondary 2. Day 1 fixes the foundational S1 topics that S2 builds on; Day 2 previews the early S2 work.

Day 1 · Close the gaps

Foundations from S1

Concept-first revision of the S1 essentials, including algebra and algebraic manipulation, linear equations, ratio and proportion. Structured practice rebuilds the fluency S2 quietly assumes.

Day 2 · Preview ahead

A head start on S2

An early look at the topics that open S2, with problem-solving drills and exam strategies. Your child meets the new material once before school does, so term one feels like revision rather than a first encounter.

For students moving from Secondary 2 into Secondary 3, where O-Level and IP content begins. Day 1 secures the S2 foundations; Day 2 previews the bridge into upper-secondary work.

Day 1 · Close the gaps

Foundations from S2

Concept-first revision of the S2 essentials, including quadratic expressions and equations, direct and inverse proportion, and algebraic fluency. These are the skills S3 leans on from week one.

Day 2 · Preview ahead

The bridge into S3

A preview of where S3 begins, including the early bridge into A-Math and O-Level content, with problem-solving drills and exam strategies. Your child sees how upper-secondary work is structured before the term starts.

Secondary sessions are concept-first revision with structured practice. Topic coverage follows the standard MOE secondary syllabus and is confirmed when the next run opens.

The two days

Day 1 closes. Day 2 opens.

Two intensive days, with an optional pre-camp diagnostic before they start and a written report within a week after. Whichever stream your child is in, the shape is the same.

Before · Optional diagnostic

An optional pre-camp diagnostic helps the tutor see where your child stands going in, so Day 1 spends its time on the gaps that actually matter rather than ground already secure.

Day 1 · Core concept mastery

Concept-first revision of the foundational topics from the year just finished, with structured practice. The aim is to close the gaps the next level assumes are already closed.

Day 2 · Preview and drills

A preview of the next level's core topics, paired with problem-solving drills and exam strategies. Your child meets the new material in a structured, unhurried way before term begins.

After the bootcamp, you receive a post-camp report within one week that names where your child stands and where to focus next. Nothing fancy, just a clear bridge into the new year.

Who it suits

For students about to step up a level.

The bootcamp is a good fit if your child:

  • is moving from S1 to S2, or from S2 to S3, this coming year;
  • has foundational topics from this year that still feel shaky;
  • would benefit from previewing the next level before term begins;
  • is heading into S3, where O-Level and IP content starts in earnest;
  • is new to GPA and wants to see how we teach before committing.

New to GPA

A self-contained bootcamp, no prior GPA experience needed. A genuine window into how we teach.

Aligned to school

Built on the MOE secondary syllabus, so it maps to what your child has covered, whatever their background.

Small classes

Same small caps as our weekly classes, so the tutor can track every student in the room.

Why we built it this way

"A new level should feel like a step up, not a cliff."

That is the whole point of the bootcamp. Close the gaps from the year just finished, preview the year ahead, and your child starts in January building rather than scrambling.

A Genius Plus Academy principle, from Mrs Eileen Toh, Founder

Many bootcamp families go on to join our weekly programme after seeing their child's post-camp report. Based on GPA's internal tracking of recent cohorts; individual results vary.

You may already be covering this content.

Questions parents ask

The latest run has finished. When is the next one?

The bootcamp returns each year-end holiday. The next run's dates and timings will be published here closer to the time. Register your interest and we will let you know as soon as they open, with no obligation to confirm a place.

What is the difference between the two streams?

There are two streams: S1 to S2 Transition, for students moving into Secondary 2, and S2 to S3 Transition, for students moving into Secondary 3 where O-Level and IP content begins. Each runs the same two-day shape, with Day 1 closing the gaps from the year just finished and Day 2 previewing the next level.

How are the two days structured?

Day 1 is concept-first revision of the foundational topics from the year just finished, with structured practice. Day 2 previews the next level's core topics, paired with problem-solving drills and exam strategies. An optional pre-camp diagnostic can run before Day 1, and a post-camp report follows within one week.

What does the bootcamp cost?

The indicative fee is $380 per level, confirmed when the next run opens. It includes the two intensive days, the optional pre-camp diagnostic, a complimentary in-house workbook and a post-camp report. The fee is the same onsite or on Zoom, with no location surcharge.

Is this suitable if my child is not a GPA student?

Yes. The bootcamp is fully self-contained, with no prior GPA experience needed. The content follows the MOE secondary syllabus, so it maps to what your child has learned in school regardless of tuition background.

Is the bootcamp available on Zoom?

Yes. Both streams are available on Zoom, with the same teaching and materials as onsite. Onsite, the bootcamp runs at Bukit Timah, Punggol and Pasir Ris.

What is the post-camp report?

Within one week of the bootcamp, you receive a written report that names where your child stands across the topics covered and suggests where to focus going into the new year. It turns two intensive days into something you can act on.

My child is already in GPA Weekly. Do we register?

Possibly not. For some weekly students, parts of this transition work already sit within their year-end lessons. Check with us first and we will confirm which programme your child is in before you register separately.
