Genius Plus Academy

Frequently Asked Questions

The common questions Singapore parents ask about Genius Plus Academy: our fees, our schedule, how we teach, how we track results, and how to get started. If your question is not here, just message us and we will answer it honestly.

Getting started

Trying us and joining

Do you offer a free trial?

Yes. We offer one free trial lesson per child, plus a free diagnostic so we can see exactly where your child is. You sit in on a real class, not a sales pitch, and then decide. You can book a trial here or read more on our trial page.

How do I sign my child up?

Most parents start with the free trial, then register if it is a good fit. You can register online or WhatsApp our admin team on 8111 1061 and we will guide you through the level, branch and timeslot. We usually reply within the hour.

Can we start any time, or only at the start of a term?

You can join at any point in the year. Because every class teaches from the same in-house curriculum, a child who joins mid-term slots straight into the running topic, and the recorded lessons let them catch up on anything they missed. WhatsApp us and we will find the right entry point.

Fees & schedule

What it costs and when classes run

How much does it cost?

Fees depend on your child's level and class type, so we quote them clearly at the consult once we know what your child needs. There is no registration fee to come for the trial. You can see the structure on our schedule and fees page.

Do you offer any financial assistance?

We look at financial assistance case by case. If cost is the only thing standing between your child and the help they need, please tell us honestly when you reach out, and we will see what we can work out together.

Where can I see the timetable?

All current class days and times by level and branch are on our schedule and fees page. If you cannot find a slot that works, message us, as we open new timeslots when there is demand and can advise on the online classes too.

How we teach

Inside the classroom

How big are the classes?

Classes are capped at eight students, and smaller for the youngest children. At that size the teacher can actually see every child's working, name their gaps and check that they are keeping up, week after week. No child sits quietly at the back and gets lost.

Are lessons recorded?

Yes. Lessons are recorded so your child can rewatch anything they did not fully grasp, and so a child who is unwell or away does not fall behind. There is also a worked solution and a video for every PSLE question, ready to rewatch at home.

What is the Lock & Key method?

The Lock & Key method maps directly onto the 10 PSLE question types. A child learns to recognise the "lock", the kind of question in front of them, and reach for the right "key", the method that solves it. It turns word problems from guesswork into a clear, repeatable process.

Is online the same as onsite?

Yes. Online classes run live on Zoom, are capped the same way, and use the same in-house materials and the same method as our branches. The quality lives in the system, so the standard does not change with the screen. You can read more on our online math tuition page.

Levels

Who we teach

Which levels do you teach?

We cover Primary and PSLE math, Lower Secondary, O-Level E-Math and A-Math, and the IP track. You can explore the details on our primary math, secondary math and PSLE Hub pages.

Do you teach IP students?

Yes, we teach math for the Integrated Programme. IP math moves faster and goes deeper than the mainstream track, so these classes are built around that pace. Tell us your child's school and year when you reach out, and we will place them correctly.

What is the difference between O-Level E-Math and A-Math?

E-Math (Elementary Mathematics) is taken by almost every student and covers the core syllabus. A-Math (Additional Mathematics) is an extra subject, more abstract and demanding, often needed for science and engineering routes. We teach both, and we are happy to advise on whether A-Math is the right load for your child.

Our materials

The textbooks and workbooks

Do you use your own materials?

Yes. We write and publish our own, 60+ textbooks and 40+ workbooks. Nothing is off the shelf: the full progression was built and refined in our own classrooms, which is why every class can teach the same method the same way. You can see them on our materials page.

Are the materials included or do I buy them separately?

We will walk you through exactly what is included and what the materials cost at the consult, so there are no surprises. Everything your child works from is written in-house, so the textbook, the worked solutions and the lesson all line up.

Results

How we think about progress

Do you have a pass rate or a success percentage?

We do not headline a percentage. Every child starts in a different place, so a single number would not tell you anything honest about yours. What we do instead is track each child's progress every term, name their gaps, and close them. You can read real parent journeys on our results page.

How will I know if my child is improving?

Because classes are small, the teacher checks your child's working every week and tracks their progress each term. We tell you plainly where they are, what is still shaky, and what we are doing about it. If we ever think tuition is not what your child needs, we will say so.

Branches & online

Where to find us

Where are your branches?

We have three owned branches: Bukit Timah at 587 Bukit Timah Road #03-30, Coronation Plaza, Singapore 269707; Punggol at 660A Edgedale Plains #02-04, Singapore 821660; and Pasir Ris at 735 Pasir Ris Street 72 #02-342, Singapore 510735. See them all on our branches page.

Do you teach online?

Yes, we run live online classes on Zoom for families anywhere in Singapore. They use the same materials, the same method and the same small class sizes as our branches. You can read more on our online math tuition page.

Do you have a branch near me?

Beyond our three branches, we serve the Upper Thomson area through our sister school Academia & Twig, so call to enquire. Math classes are also being planned in Kovan at our sister school ETG, where you can register your interest. If you are further out, online classes reach the whole island.
