(a) Ans: 11/32

Method 1: Model

used/total = 4.5u + 1u/16u = 11/32

Method 2: Ratio

1/4 of 8u = 2u
3/8 of 24u = 9u

used/total = 9u + 2u/24u +8u = 11/32

(b) Ans: 96

Method 1: Model

7.5u + 3u = 63
10.5u = 63
1u = 63 ÷ 10.5 = 6
16u = 16 × 6 = 96

Method 2: Ratio

15u + 6u = 21u
21u → 63
1u → 63 ÷ 21 = 3
32u → 32 × 3 = 96
